We went over the measures of both social and economic development. We took a closer look at women’s connection to economic development as well. The theories of development, specifically Wallerstein’s World Systems Theory and Rostow’s Stages of Economic Growth, are extremely important in explaining socioeconomic development. Lastly, we talked about the UN Millennium Development Goals and methods of sustainable development, which play a role in improving countries & their quality of life. We also did a couple of scenarios related to development.
